FIRST BLOCK: SANTA CROCE

The movida in Florence is here. A long street full of pubs, disco-pub, lounge bar, every kind of place to meet people, drink, and stay outside up late.
Age around 18-35. People from everywhere in the world, many students, and young travelers.
To get there take the street between Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi Gallery (Via della Ninna, then Via dei Neri) and go straight. Or, from the Duomo, take Via Dell'Oriuolo and straight.

SECOND BLOCK: SANTO SPIRITO

Passed Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), you come in Oltrarno, the other side of Florence. Here is a different mood. Here is the place of Florentine people, a very pretty neighborhood with nice cafès, bar, restaurants and frequented especially by actors, artists, writers or conoisseurs and art lovers. The age is between 25 and 45.
Near Santo Spirito square are other little squares such as Piazza della Passera and the quarter of San Frediano (where still lot of Florentine people live).
To get there, just pass Ponte Vecchio, go straight in Via De' Guicciardini, and turn right in one of the small streets. Or from Palazzo Strozzi, take Via De' Tornabuoni, pass the bridge then go straight.

THIRD BLOCK: PIAZZA DELLA REPUBBLICA

Are you looking for the typical old Italian style? So, Republic Square fits you perfectly. This is the place for a quite, but amusing, late evening. With its large surface and the multicolored carousel, this square is right for families and child. Not only. With the huge arch and the elegant historical cafès on its two sides (Caffè Paszkowski, Caffè Le Giubbe Rosse, Caffè Gilli) Piazza della Repubblica is the favorite destination for who wants to remember the Dolce Vita (sweet life) and pay to stay in a place which was meeting point for many artists and writers in the past.
Near Piazza della Repubblica is also a Hard Rock Cafè and, passed the arch, Via de' Tornabuoni and Piazza Strozzi where you can find other nice places, such as Colle Bereto, the bar from where starts the Florentine night before the disco.
From the Duomo, take Via de' Calzaiuoli and turn right in Via Roma, then go straight.
